Review of product by CompuTelCo.com...The NEC DSX 34 Button Super Display Speakerphone ...
My first impression of the NEC super display telephone is that this phone belongs on the executive's desk. It has a full duplex speaker phone. A lot of speaker phones are half duplex. This means when you talk and let's say somebody drops something or makes a loud noise in your office, the person’s voice who you are talking to won’t cut out. So even if you're talking to somebody and there's a loud noise in your area, you'll still be able to hear what the person on the other side of the phone is saying because it doesn't cut out.
The display on this phone is beautiful. It's about three and a half inches by three and a half inches and all the features on it are spelled out. On the 34-button phone and 22-button phone, all of the features on the screen appear abbreviated, but on the NEC DSX Super Display telephone, they're spelled out so there's no confusion as to what you're doing. The display on the Super Display phone is backlit. This phone is the perfect phone for low-light conditions.
This telephone also has 24 programmable function keys. Programmable function keys can be line buttons, message center keys, group ring keys, or any other number of other functions that are available to the telephone. It also has some fixed keys, which is nice, because on some other phone systems these features would actually eat up your function keys. These fixed keys include transfer, intercom, flash, voicemail, redial, do not disturb, mute, conference, speaker, and hold.
It looks great as a high-end residential telephone, works great at your receptionist's or executive's desk. It's a beautiful phone to have out front so that customers can see it when they come in at your fine eating establishment. It's a solid phone. There's some real weight to the handset and some real weight to the telephone. I've had one of these on my desk for a while and sometimes I trip over the cord, sending the phone flying onto the floor. I pick the phone back up, put it on my desk, and it works great, as if I had never actually tripped over the cord.
This is the high-end telephone for the NEC DSX and you definitely get your money's worth with the quality that they're delivering for the cost.
