The highly reliable NEC DSX is not being replaced by the just-released NEC SL1100.
We are not offering the NEC SL1100 to our "do it yourself" customers. Many of our customers install and program their own NEC DSX.
With the NEC SL1100, professional installation by a trained, experienced, and certified NEC installer is required.

Symptom:
Voicemail system stops functioning after an update.
Issue:
When updating or upgrading intramail system prompts on the NEC DSX 40, 80, or 160 through a USB cable using IntraMail>Prompt Update in System Administrator software 3 and higher, you may find that all installed prompts revert to "uninstalled" and the voicemail system stops working.
Workaround:
Do not update voicemail prompts through the USB cable. Connect to your system through ethernet. If you have already lost all of your prompts while attempting to recover, simply start over with an ethernet cable instead of USB.
